MY STORY

The most important life lessons I have learnt is that:
“It is never too late to start over again and that the best is yet to come”.

I am a practicing litigation attorney who is also qualified as a pastoral therapist, life coach (UK) and as a family and divorce mediator.

Many clients that have walked into my legal practice, have lost all hope for the future, and were overwhelmed by their devastating circumstances. While fighting their battles in court, I have also coached the following important life skills, in the process to cope with:

1. the challenging processes of court

2. the demanding opposition

3. their stressed families and

4. building them up to be able to create a future for themselves again.

After our legal journey, we mostly became like family after our “walking the court paths” together and many of clients have requested post divorce-advice eg. life coaching. These requests birthed the inspiration to provide life coaching.

My own life experience is a testimony of God’s goodness and His grace. With 4 small children, sudden no secured accommodation, and very little finances, I had no choice but to do my internship at a legal firm in the City of Cape Town at the age of 44. (I was academically legally qualified as a youngster but have placed my internship on the backburner to be a full-time mom with the kids).

I had to write my Legal Board Exam at the age of 45 while in the middle of a challenging divorce and keeping everything afloat in my family’s lives.

Life and by the actions of a few, can throw horrific curve balls at us, threatening our balance. The good news is that we can hit these curve balls back with an ace-stroke like in tennis at an open tennis tournament. We can arise from it, become more empathetic toward others and be victorious, while still enjoying a rejuvenated life and living our dreams.

Life will always have its challenges and curve balls but with the right life skills, tool set and the grace of the Almighty, nothing is impossible. I am a believer of the impossible and have seen many miracles so far.

It is never too late and we can arise up, above our circumstances, as the radiant, flying, colourful hot air balloons, we are and enjoy the beautiful journey of life.

Today, I am married, my 4 children are grown-up and I am still practising in all the fields of my expertise and although there will still be mountains and valleys to travel, I am enjoying life and are making new memories every day. I enjoy body surfing the waves, playing the piano, hanging out with dear ones, endeavouring in new adventures, travelling to new places learning Spanish, playing chess and constantly learning from the great mentors and the Master Creator of human beings.

Matthew 19:26 “.. with God all things are possible”.
